How to Use Hickory Wood Pellets
You've probably smelled the earthy aroma of hickory many times before, and you've certainly tasted hickory in a variety of meats. With our hickory wood pellets, you can transform any food on your grill.
While hickory wood pellets are great for beef, pork and poultry, you can also use them for other foods that you want to enhance with a rich smoke flavor. Remember, though, that hickory tends to offer up a very distinctive tone and aroma. Therefore, you may want to avoid smoking delicate foods like whitefish or dessert fruits when you're smoking with hickory pellets.
As a best bet, try using hickory pellets when you're smoking something for a while. However, if you're planning to go extremely low and slow, consider wrapping your meat or bird in aluminum foil. Otherwise, the smokiness could overpower the protein's essence when you take your masterpiece off the grill.
Combination Suggestions for Hickory Wood Pellets
Many pitmasters choose to blend their hickory pellets with other types of Grilla Grills wood pellets. For instance, if you want to temper the robustness of hickory with a subtle sweetness, mix in some cherry or apple wood pellets with your hickory selection.
On the other hand, if you want a smoke that's all forest and no fruitiness, add pecan or oak pellets to your combination. You'd be hard-pressed to go wrong with just about any flavor combo. Plus, you can always count on Grilla Grills for true, consistent hardwood pellet overtones.

Ships quick. Burns great. Everything you can ask for in a bag of pellets. One con is the amount of wood dust (I think that's what it is) at the bottom of the bag. I notice that when I dump the remaining pellets into the smoker, it won't burn clean for around 10min.
We cook beef and chicken using the Hickory and was very satisfied!
Little dust content, great smoke taste & smell. My go to favourite.
Right on Gary, sometime sticking with the basics is the way to go and hickory does not disappoint!
First experience, like to flavor, especially with beef I've smoked.
