What to Expect When You Use Apple Wood Pellets for Smoking
When you grill and smoke using apple wood pellets, you bring a sense of playful fruitiness to all your foods. The scent and taste of apple aren't overwhelming, though. Instead, the subtle flavor lingers in the background.
If you want your foods to have a hint of smoke that doesn't take center stage, apple wood pellets could be the perfect solution.
Foods to Smoke Using Apple Pellets
In general, just about any food can be enhanced by using apple pellets for smoking. However, because this type of wood tends to burn nicely and offer just the right degree of consistent smoke, apple pellets are often recommended when you're cooking low and slow.
For instance, let's say you've finally decided to smoke your own bacon. Choosing apple wood pellets will give you a classic taste.
Other foods ideally suited for apple wood pellets include veggies, pork and poultry items. Want to take Thanksgiving or another holiday to the next level? Smoke your bird with apple pellets for a delicious and totally memorable meal.
Mix and Match Apple Pellets With Other Pellet Flavors
At Grilla Grills, we don't just offer apple wood for smokers. In fact, our wood pellets are available in several flavors, including hickory, mesquite, pecan, cherry and competition blend OHC (oak, hickory, cherry). Our wide variety of pellets gives you the opportunity to mix and match for unique smoky flavors.
When you want a fruit-laden finish on your meat — not to mention beautiful pinkish smoke rings — opt for a blend of apple and cherry wood pellets. On the other hand, if you want to bolster the apple undertones of these pellets with something bolder, try combining apple and hickory, or apple and mesquite.
How you experiment with your smoker grill is up to you. Our job is to bring you the best wood pellets on the market. Get a natural taste of cooking in the jungle with Grilla Grills competition grade wood pellets.

Works very well with pork shoulders. Makes the best pulled pork I've smoked so far!
Great to hear Andrew, thanks for letting us know!
great flavor and smoke quality
The woodchips are great and let me tell you why. I thought all wood chips were the same. I was wrong. I was buying another brand at a big box store and they worked, until I had a smoke out. The top of my Chimp blew open during a pork butt smoke, I thought the grill had a bomb go off in it. I contacted support, they have always been helpful with questions I had in the beginning, and I’ve had two very minor issues when I first got my Chimp. About an hour after I send in my support ticket my phone rings,” Hey Frank, This is Mark Graham from Grilla Grills, do you have a few minutes?” WOW! I thought, what the heck did I do that Mark is calling me. Mark explained what was going on, why the woodchips I was using to smoke caused the issue and then sent me two bags. Not to mention, he said this is my cell number, if you have any questions or just want to talk give me a call. Talk about customer service. O yeah, the woodchips, I forgot that is what I was reviewing, are Great! That one call sealed the deal for me. I am a customer for life. Frank from Buffalo, NY
This is the kind of thing that makes us smile. Thanks so much for sharing this story Frank. Glad people appreciate the extra mile we try to go!
